PIKO, Jennie V. Boginsky, 101, died Friday, September 5, 2008 in Belmont Manor Nursing Home, St. Clairsville, Ohio.

Jennie was born January 19, 1907 in Barnum, W.Va., a daughter of the late Stanley and Anna Swinska Boginsky. She was a retired pastry cook for the former Eric’s Steak House, Wheeling and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling.

In addition to her parents, Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, John Piko in 1961; three infant sons; two sisters, Lottie Miller and Catherine Mrzlak; and two brothers, Edward and John Boginsky.

Jennie is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Bock and her husband, Jeff and Mary Kay Laughlin and her husband, James all of Wheeling; two sons, Donald Piko and Lawrence Piko and his wife, Joan Lee, all of Wheeling; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Friends will be received from Noon to 3 and 6-8 pm, Sunday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Monday, September 8, 2008 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Chris Turner as celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 2244 Marshall Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003.

Dear Larry,Joan,Laura and families,

My thoughts are with all of you in the passing of your mother,mother in law and grandmother..how wonderful she lived such a long life.She was so lucky to have such a wonderful family..my own grandmother lived to be 98 and we all loved her so much and even though we had her for so many years it just didn’t seem like it was long enough..God Bless all of you..remembering all of you in my prayers
