Azelle and Max were my good friends.I’m sad learning about their passing. I will always remember Azelle and her wonderful S.E. Virginia accent.
I met Ms. Shackelford when my mother, Leo Southern, shared a room with her at the Va. Beach Rehab Center a year or two ago. My mother, being French, at times struggled with the English language. Azelle was so helpful to her and showed her true kindness and gentle spirit. Both she and Max extended my parents kindness. I will always remember her for her care of others and strength of character. I am very sorry for your loss but know that while we did not know her very long, she made a very positive impact in our lives.
Just wanted to give my condolences to the whole family. Azelle was a very special lady. She was one of sweetest people i have ever meet in my life. She was a second mother to me and She will be truly missed. I love you, Azelle
