SHERBS, James W., 84, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Monday, November 21, 2011 at Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital.
He was born October 2, 1927, in Seminole, W.Va., a son to the late Otto Edward and Julia Gumm Sherbs. He attended St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Wheeling and served in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Pauline Bartosh Sherbs, one sister, Wanda Steele, and one brother, Willard “Bud” Sherbs.
He is survived by his son, Rod Sharon Sherbs; three grandchildren, Shawn Alisha Martin, Sheldon Sherbs, and Michael Melanie Sherbs; two great grandchildren, Abbi Martin and Dusty Sherbs; several nieces and nephews; and special companion, Mary Savina.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Our Jim all be missed dearly. There is a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. I know he has gone to a better place and is smiling down reassuring us that he is at peace.

Rodney, so sorry that you lost your dad. Tom, just ask me yesterday if i knew any thing about him. We thought he was still in Clarksburg. We did not know he was back home. We sure would have gone to see him. You took good care of him and that is all you can do. Now he is with your Mom and my best friend. Please keep in contact with us. Both of you take care.
