James J. Geiser, Jr.

VIRGINIA BEACH – James Jim Joseph Geiser, Jr., 57, passed away on September 20, 2009. Jim Geiser was born in Minnesota to James J. Geiser, Sr. and Joyce Fee Conn. He retired after 20 years of service from the U. S. Navy. After his retirement, he began working with Culligan Water as a technician for last several years.

Jim was an avid Minnesota Vikings football fan and loved fishing. He was the Virginia BASS Federation Nation BFN Region 7 Director, the Former Region 7 Secretary, President of Battlefield fishing Team. Also, he donated countless hours to the Virginia BASS Youth Program. He was very active in the community and will be missed by all that knew him.

In addition to his parents, Jim is survived by his partner of 20 years, Sheila Caldwell; his daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Reilly and her husband Marty; three grandchildren, Marty, Jr., Shane and Brendan; eight brothers and sisters, Paula Pope, Ellen Geiser, Nancy Peterson, Steven Geiser, Catherine Geiser, Michael Geiser, Sara Geiser, and Rita Geiser.

A rosary service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 7:30PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to “Region 7 of Virginia Youth” at 2529 Piney Bark Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23456.

Always had a good word twards everyone and was good to work for in the Navy, will miss his laughter and watching him always trying to find his Pepsi.

Jim and I were stationed together at NAS Oceana many !! moons ago and then continued our friendship in darts. He will be sorely missed. We lift our glass to you Jim, may you rest in peace.

Jim, You will be missed. Your darting family will always remember you. I still remember the Vikings/Redskins game we went to on 9-11-2006. Your birthday and a great game which the Vikes won at Fed-Ex field. SKOL VIKES. 5-0 this year and looking great.
