Colley, James Harry II "Coach", 53, of Hermitage, Pa., died August
6, 2003 in Sharon Regional Hospital, Sharon Pa. from complications of Appendicial Aden carcinoma.
He was born in Wheeling on March 15, 1950, a son of the late Howard Edmund Colley and Helen Ester Hoffer Colley Morgan.
He attended Triadelphia High School and graduated from Salem High School, Salem , Ohio in 1968. He attended Malone College, Ohio Tech School, Ohio and received a degree in Medical Technology from Youngstown State University. He was a former Meat Cutter at the A&P Meat Wharehouse, Salem, Ohio. a former Lab Chemist with Standard Slag and Concrete, Canfield, Ohio and in 1987 he served as a Chemist at Youngstown Waste Water, in 1989 he was appointed the Head Chemist of Youngstown Waste Water and remained in that position until his Medical Disability in June 2002, while at Youngstown Waste Water he obtained his Ohio Class 4 lab analyst certificate, his Ohio Class 3 wastewater operator’s license and his Ohio secondary treatment certificate.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1970 to 1976 where he served as Hospital Laboratory Technician in West Point, NY., he received an Expert Rifleman Medal and an Honorable Discharge with Letter of Commendation. He was active with the Oglebay Park Caddy Camp, Wheeling, the Sharpsville, Pa. American Legion, the Sharpsville, Pa Booster Club, he was named "Man of the Year" in 2002 in Sharpsville, Pa. he developed the Sharpsville Blue Devil Open Golf Tournament in 1998, he was the head Golf Coach at Sharpsville High School from 1997 until 2003, and a member of the Wheeling Park Golf Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Errol Howard Colley; his stepfather, Edwin Morgan and his grandparents, Mary and John Hoffer and Catherine and
James H. Colley I.
Surviving are his wife, Robin Osborn Burns Colley; a brother, Richard Colley and his wife, Barbara of Moundsville, WV. Carolyn E. Colley Emery and her husband, Joseph of Thousand Oaks, Ca.; a step-brother, Leroy "Skip" Morgan of Warren, Ohio; a step-sister, Jackie Shay of Wheeling; two daughters, Stacy Leigh Colley Antczak and her husband, John of Berea, Ohio and Emily Anne Colley Gatti and her husnabd, Matt of Apple Creek, Ohio; three step-sons, Chris Osborn of Jamestown, Pa.; Ryan Burns of Greenville, Pa.; and Brandon Burns of Greenville, Pa.; his wife’s parents, Robert and Juanita Osborn of Greenville, Pa.,
three sisters-in-law, Stasha Campbell and her husband, Joey of Portersville, Pa.; Salene Cowher and her husband, John of Edinboro, Pa. and Billie Garman of Canonsburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, John Duchovney Antczak, Maxwell Andreas Gatti and Mia Alexandria Gatti and a step-grandson, Andrew Osborn.
Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at John Flynn Funeral Home, 2630 State St. Hermitage, Pa. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Sharpsville, Pa. Friends will then be received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St. on Sunday, August 10, 2003 from 2-5 p.m.
