MELNICK, Jacqueline M., 86, of Moundsville, W.Va., died September 1, 2013, at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, W.Va., surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 24, 1927, in Moundsville, a daughter of the late William and Lena Elizabeth Ryan Bonar.
She was a retired employee from the former Blake’s Kiddie Korral, a Protestant by faith, and a graduate of Moundsville High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Melnick and two sisters; Iris Riggs and Karen Laing.
Surviving are two sons; David Alex Anna Hitchcock Melnick of Moundsville and Jeffrey Alan Trish Melnick of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter Melisa Robbins of Ranson, W.Va.; a brother William Joanne Bonar of Moundsville; three sisters; Geraldine Wilkins of Texas, Kibby Roso of Moundsville, and Lynette Warren Whitfeld of Eldersville, Pa. Eight grandchildren; David Alex Melnick, Jr., Barry Alan Melnick, Mark Daniel Melnick, Amy Rachele Melnick, Nichole Elizabeth Melnick, John Austin Robbins, Jessica Ann Robbins, and Jennifer Ann Robbins; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Friends received Wednesday, September 4, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, September 5, 2013.
Entombment in Riverview Cemetery Mausoleum, Moundsville.

I will miss the twinkle in her eyes and the warmth of her smile. Her laugh was very contagious. Jackie was a very sharing person who always made you feel welcome.

Very sorry that I couldn’t be there. Aunt Jackie was so sweet and wonderful to me. I will miss her sense of humor and loving smile. She was a great lady. Iris loved her so much and was so close to her. I am happy they are now together in heaven.
