Jack B. Laughlin, 84 of East Liverpool, OH passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Trinity Hospital in Steubenville, OH following a lengthy illness.
He was born in East Liverpool on December 16, 1930 a son to the late Edgar B. and Ida Mae Twyford Laughlin. Mr. Laughlin was a 1951 graduate of East Liverpool City High School and a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a Millwright at Crucible Steel for 32 before retiring in 1982. Jack was a member of Oakland Free Methodist Church, a former Governor of Moose Lodge, a life Member of American Legion Post #374. He enjoyed fishing on the Ohio River, wood working and was an avid puzzle solver.
He is survived by three sons: Jeffrey Scott Laughlin and his companion Dawn Potts of East Liverpool, OH, Jack B. Laughlin, Jr. of West Virginia and Mark D. Laughlin of Columbia, SC; two daughters: Dawn Lynn Ball and Susan M. Richards and her companion “BJ” William Dorsey both of East Liverpool, OH; nine grandchildren: Jason Walker and his wife April, Jacob Lawrence and his wife Susan, Dustie Pakorney and her husband Robert, Michael Laughlin, Lonnie Laughlin, Travis Laughlin, Paige Laughlin, Bailey Pakorney and Kendell Jean Laughlin; four great grandchildren: Gavin Walker, Caleb Walker, Jeromie Walker and Connor A. Lawrence and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gloria “Jean” Krafft Laughlin whom he married on October 22, 1972; one sister: Thelma Laughlin Surgeon; a grandson: Jack Laughlin III; a daughter-in-law: Carolyn Laughlin and a son-in-law: Scott Ball.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Alvin Talkington of Boyce United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Chapel on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 2 to 4 & 6 – 8 PM.
