Isabel Louisa Velez Jagucki, 88, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Sunday, June 1, 2008, in the East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio.
She was born February 4, 1920 in Caney, Cuba, a daughter of the late Luis and Isabel Riveron Velez.
Isabel was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church; Catholic Womens Club; Catholic Daughters of America; St. Francis Society; Hilltop Garden Group; Olgebay Institute; Belmont County Historical Society and Belmont Hills Country Club.
She graduated from high school in Santiago, Cuba and performed as a member of Orfeon Cuba, a Cuban National Choral Group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia; and a brother, Armando Velez.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Louis F. Jagucki, who she married November 29, 1947; one daughter, Rita Marie Mark Pinti, of Beavercreek, Ohio; two sons, Louis Armando Jagucki of Portland, Ore. and David Arthur Pamela Jagucki of Kettering, Ohio; two grandsons, Armando D. Jagucki of Portland and Christopher D. Jagucki of Kettering; three step-grandchildren; Gabriel Pinti of Springfield, Ohio, Khaloy Diaz-White and Arika Diaz-White, both of Portland; one brother, Oscar Yolanda Velez of Diamond Bar, Calif.; one sister, Patricia Ortega of Los Angeles, Calif. Also five nephews; seven nieces; and many grand-nephews and nieces.
Family and friends will be received at the Beck-Altmeyer Funral Home & Crematory, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950, on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Clairsville, with Fr. Anthony Batt, the celebrant.
Interment in the Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville.
St. Francis Society will conduct services on Wednesday at 2:30 PM. Vigil services will be conducted at 4 PM and Catholic Daughter of America services at 6 PM.
Memorial contributions may be to the St. Mary Catholic Church or the St. Mary Central School.
