Irene Paluch, 73, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Friday, June 29, 2001, in the ICU unit at Wheeling Hospital.
She was born in McMechen, W.Va., on April 8, 1928, daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Hoyt Walton of McMechen, W.Va.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend, and homemaker. She was a member of the McMechen-Benwood United Methodist Church in McMechen, W.Va., and a member of the Dorcus Circle, and several Bible groups in the area.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Eva Knight. Surviving are her loving husband of 51 years, John; one daughter, Barbara of Wheeling; two sons, William ”Bill” of Hilliard, Ohio, John E. and his wife, Mary Ann Paluch of Wheeling; two sisters, Ruth Wenneworth of Weirton, W.Va., Dorothy Coleman and her husband Robert of Moundsville; a brother, Charles ”Sonny” Walton of McMechen, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Christopher Paluch of Hilliard, Ohio, Sara Paluch of Youngstown, Ohio, Karen Paluch, Dawn Leigh Paluch and Ryan Templin, all of Wheeling; several nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews.
Friends will be received Sunday, July 1, 2001, from noon-3 and 5-9 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Beiswenger Chapel, 3828 Jacob St., Wheeling, where services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from McMechen-Benwood United Methodist Church, McMechen, with the Rev. Edward Craft and the Rev. Glen Baker Jr officiating. Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard.
