Age 83

Ila E. "Betty" Bright, 83, formerly of Commerce Street, Wellsville, Ohio, died on Monday, August 19, 2002 at St. Mary’s Alzheimer Center in Columbiana, Ohio following an extended illness.

She was born in Madison Township, Ohio on March 5, 1919 the daughter of the late Albert and Olive Workman Leatherberry.

Living her entire life in the area, Mrs. Bright was a clerk at the former Wellsville Water Department. She was a graduate of Wellsville High School and was a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church in Wellsville, Ohio.

Her husband, C. Fredrick Bright, whom she married in 1944, died in 1958.

She is survived by a son, Jim Bright and his wife Debbie of Wellsville, Ohio; a daughter, Jan Mobley and her husband, Robert of Wellsville, Ohio; a half-brother, Richard Leatherberry of Wellsville, Ohio; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Powell.

Services will be held at the Riverside Presbyterian Church on Friday, August 23, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Rev. William Betteridge officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, East Liverpool, Ohio.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Home on Thursday, August 22, 2002
from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Mary;s Alzheimer Center, Activities Fund, 1899 W. Garfield Road, Columbiana, Ohio 44408 or to Riverside Presbyterian Church, 525 Riverside Avenue, Wellsville, Ohio 43968.
