Hilma Steele, age 79 went to be with the Lord Thursday November 29,2001. She was a retired school bus driver after forty years of service for the city of Virgina Beach. Mrs. Steele was a member of Bethany Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years William A. Steele, Sr. and two daughters Carol Wayne and Linda Jean.
Survivors include a daughter Delores Wynn and her husband Dale of Virginia Beach; three sons William A. Steele Jr. and his wife Jeanette of Virginia Beach, Robert Steele and his wife Judy of Gaston NC, and Richard Steele of Virginia Beach; a brother Paul Powers and his wife Doris of Virginia Beach. Three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted Monday at 2:00pm by Pastor Fred Bates, Jr. at Bethany Freewill Baptist Church.
