VIRGINIA BEACH–Henry D. Willis, Jr., 59, of the 4400 block of Jeanne Street, died November 16, 2001 in a local hospital. Mr. Willis was retired from the Naval Air Depot business office and was a U.S. Airforce veteran. He attended Pembroke Manor United Church of Christ and was a member of the Norfolk Lodge of the Fraternal Order of the Moose.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Glenda ”Jeanette” Willis and a brother, Donald L. Willis. He was the son of the late Henry and Frances Willis.

He is survived by one son, Douglas M. Willis of Virginia Beach; a sister, Shelby W. Duncan and her husband, Jim of Beaverdam, VA; a brother, Stuart F. Willis and his wife, Jean of Myrtle Beach, SC; a special friend, Pat Green of Virginia Beach; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1-4 pm Sunday at Altmeyer Funeral Home Virginia Beach Chapel. A funeral will be conducted at 11 am Monday at the Pembroke Manor United Church of Christ by the Rev. Joe Paluszak. Entombment will be held at 11 am Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Richmond, VA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to either Pembroke Manor United Church of Christ or the National Kidney Foundation.

Henry was a close working friend. We had many fun times on the job. He taught me a lot. I will truly miss him. May the Lord keep you and bless you through this.
