Helen M. Mazgaj, 84, of Overlook Court, St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at her home.
She was born June 25, 1922 in Lafferty, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Piatek.
Helen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clairsville, and the Polish National Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Mazgaj, Jr. in 1993, whom she married May 5, 1945. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Carol Filip, Joseph, Jr., Stanley, John, Edward and Frank Mistak.
Surviving are two children, her son Stanley J. Mazgaj, with whom she resided, and daughter, Donna and her husband Larry Peltz, Mt. Pleasant, Ohio; two grandchildren; Kevin and his wife Laura Peltz, Salisbury, NC, and Dr. Carrie Peltz, Girard, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Michael and Riley Katherine Peltz.
Friends will be received from 3-8 PM Friday, January 26, 2007, at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950, where a Vigil service will be held at 6:30 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 1:30 PM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Christopher the celebrant.
Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
