Helen C. Roski Saseen, 88, of Wheeling, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born a coal miner’s daughter on April 15, 1912, in Neffs, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Stella Roski.
She was a retired restaurant co-owner of the 20th Street Cafe, Wheeling; the Club Henry and the Cottage Bar, with her late husband, Nancepe ”Bananas” Saseen.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, Wheeling; a member of the Altar Society and the Women’s Club of Our Lady of Lebanon.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are a daughter, Rosella M. Saseen, with whom she resided; a brother, Ben Roski and his wife, Genni, of Adena, Ohio; a sister, Sophia Bailey of Dillonvale, Ohio; three brothers-in-law, Robert Saseen and his wife, Frances, Louis Saseen and his wife, Emily, and Jerry Saseen and his wife Marge, all of Wheeling; 14 nephews; 14 nieces; 21 great-nephews; and 26 great-nieces.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling. Rosary devotions at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 2216 Eoff St., Wheeling, with the Rev. George Chaanine as celebrant. Internment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
