RICHARDS, Hattie V., 61, of Penn Street, Moundsville, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale.
She was born July 10, 1939 in Moundsville, a daughter of the late Marion A. Tyler and Louella McCain Tyler Westland.
Hattie was a homemaker and a Protestant by faith. She was a member of ladies auxiliaries of the V.F.W. Post No. 347, Moundsville; the American Legion Earl Francis Post No. 3, Moundsville; and the Eagles Aerie No. 499 of Moundsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Leroy Richards, in 1985; a daughter, Vellisha L. Richards; and a brother, Eugene Tyler.
Surviving are two sons, Leroy E. Richards of Triadelphia, Michael E. Richards and his wife, Donna of Moundsville; two daughters, Victoria L. Murphy and her husband, Brian of Moundsville, and Veronica L. Demello of Moundsville; three sisters, Virginia Selmon and her husband, George of Ohio, Rita Stephens and her husband, Carl of Moundsville and Betty Strosnider of Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday from noon-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2001, with the Rev. David Grueser officiating. Interment in Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling.
