Harry William Hanket II, 73, of Maple Avenue, Wheeling, died Wednesday March 7, 2001 at East Ohio Regional Hospital.
Harry was born May 30, 1927 in Wheeling, son of the late Harry William I and Dorothy Ayers Hanket.
He was a retired machinist for Valley Machine, a member of the Hillhoppers Flying Club, a Methodist by faith, and a Navy Veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by one son, Harry William Hanket III.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Ice Hanket; two daughters, Rita Rolling of Wheeling, and Brenda Pugh Bruning and her husband Eric of Stuart, FL; one son, Brian Scott Hanket of Wheeling; one sister, Mary Fragile and her husband James of Wheeling; one brother, Robert Hanket and his wife Lexie of Moundsville; one niece and five nephews.
Friends will be received Saturday March 10, 2001 from 7-9 pm and Sunday March 11, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling, where services will be held Monday March 12, 2001 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Glen Baker Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
