Harry V. Yahn Jr., 88, of Cecil Place, Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home on October 15, 2003.<br> <br>Harry was a member of St. Vincent de Paul parish in Elm Grove where he served as an Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Carrol Council 4th. Degree.<br> <br>He was a retired Electrical Contractor Draftsman and Electrical Designer, a member of the local union 141 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as a master electrician for over 62 years, a past chapter president of the National Electrical Contractors Assoc. and past president of the Ohio Valley Builders Exchange 1957-58. <br><br>Harry was a WWII veteran and chief petty officer in the United States Navy during the pacific theater of operations. <br><br>He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry V. Sr. and Emma Witzberger Yahn, two sisters, Dorothy Yahn Harbert and Gertrude Yahn Hohman, one brother, Robert A. Yahn. <br><br>Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Ruth Stenger Yahn, his only son, Harry V. Yahn III and his wife Judith of Wheeling; two granddaughters, Cynthia Yahn Lewis and Diane Yahn Coleman both of Wheeling; seven great grandchildren, Adam, Brenden, Chelsea, Ethan, Mary, David and Sarah, four brothers, Louis Yahn of Wheeling; John Yahn of Florida; Edmund Yahn of Wheeling; William Yahn of Seneca Lake, OH; one sister, Alma Jean Schmitt of Florida. <br><br>Friends received noon-3 and 6-8 Sunday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling/Elm Grove where vigil services will be held at 7:30pm. Funeral Liturgy and mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday, October 20, 2003, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling with the Rev. James Lacrosse S.M. as celebrant. Entombment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. <br><br>Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer and Stroke victims research.
