Harry M. Bartholomew

Bartholomew, Harry M., 87 of Wheeling, died Friday, April 6, 2001, in the Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital and Geriatric Center, Wheeling. He was born in Wheeling, the son of the late Henry E. and Minnie Brand Bartholomew. He was a retired treasurer at Grubb Contracting and Bell Lumber; a member of North Street United Methodist Church, Wheeling; and was very active in handball at the Y.M.C.A. for many years, winning several tournaments. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Showalter Bartholomew; a sister, Elizabeth Bartholomew; two stepbrothers, Tom and William Ball. Surviving are a son, Larry Paul Bartholomew of Wheeling; two daughters, Emilie V. Bartholomew of Wheeling and Kitty B. Frazier and her husband, Walter of Charleston, WV; a sister, Andrea Bartholomew of Michigan; two grandsons, Dr. Gary Frazier and his wife, Jessica of Campbellville, KY. and Stuart Frazier and his wife, Heather of Hurricane, WV; and two twin great-grandsons, Walter Bartholomew Frazier and Edwin Colton Frazier. Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, where services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Wheeling.
