Harry E. Merriman
Age 77

Harry E. Merriman, 77, of State Route 45, Wellsville, OH died Wednesday night October 23, 2002 at East Liverpool City Hospital, after suddenly becoming ill at home.

He was born in Wellsville, Ohio on June 10, 1925, the son of the late James S. and Marie Theresa Henkel Merriman.

A lifelong area resident, Mr. Merriman was a brick wheeler at the former H.K. Porter-Swank Refractories, retiring in 1974. He was a veteran of the US Army Corp of Engineers serving during World War II and was a member of V.F.W., Post 66 in East Liverpool, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda C. Baumgarner Merriman, whom he married June 7, 1948.

Mr. Merriman is survived by five sons: Dan Merriman and his wife, Linda of Minerva, Ohio, Timothy R. Merriman and his wife Susan of Canfield, Ohio, William Merriman & his wife Nancy of Alliance, Ohio, John F. Merriman and his wife, LaDonna of Wellsville, Ohio and James H. McKinnon and his wife Alice of East Liverpool, Ohio; one brother, Richard Merriman of East Liverpool, Ohio; two sisters, Elsie Merriman of East Liverpool, Ohio and June Peggy Delores Jewell of Salem, Ohio; 16 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by three brothers, James E. Merriman, Charles Merriman and Harold Merriman and one sister, Gladys Merriman.

Services will be held at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, October 26, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ron Bown of Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church, officiating.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Wellsville today, Friday, October 25, 2002 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
