Harry D. Gibbs
Harry D. Gibbs 79 of Curry Avenue, East Liverpool, Ohio died Thursday, May 24, 2001 at East Liverpool Convalescent Center #1 following a brief illness.
He was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on February 8, 1922 and was the son of the late Frances E. ”Nellie” Gibbs.
A lifelong area resident, Mr. Gibbs worked as a window clerk with the U. S. Postal Service. He was a 1939 graduate of East Liverpool High School, a member of American Legion, Post #121 in Chester, West Virginia, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #66 in East Liverpool, Ohio and a veteran of the US Marine Corp serving during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Wilkinson Gibbs, whom he married December 30, 1950; three daughters, Mrs. Gregory Connie Todd of East Liverpool, Ohio, Mrs. John Karen Hickman of East Liverpool, Ohio and Mrs. Joseph Vicki Walters of East Liverpool, Ohio; 4 Grandchildren.
There are no services or calling hours planned.
Burial will be in Long Runs Cemetery.
The Calcutta Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
