MARCHLENSKI, Harry A., 78, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at home.

Born in Wheeling on June 12, 1929, Harry was the son of the late John and Anelia Wiszniewski Marchlenski.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the 29th Infantry during the Korean Conflict. Harry was a member of St Alphonsus Catholic Church and the former St. Ladislaus Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by eight brothers, Joseph, John, Edward, Chester, Paul, Louis, Frank and Pete Marchlenski; and his sisters, Mary Marchlenski and Helen Malatinsky.

Surviving are two brothers, Richard Marchlenski of Benwood, W.Va. and Stanley Marchlenski of Newark, Ohio; one sister, Jane Zingo and her husband, John, of Martins Ferry, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from 4-8 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling.

Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

My sincere sympathy to the family. I used to play football on the streets of South Wheeling with Harry, Richard and others in the 40s when we were little guys.
