Harold E. Bandi, 81, of Wheeling, WV, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at home.
He was born April 25, 1921 in Wheeling, son of the late Albert George and Marie Ritter Bandi.
In addition to his parents, a brother, George Bandi, preceded him in death.
Harold retired in 1982 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling, where he served as a greeter, a member of Holy Name Society, and a member of S.O.A.R.
He entered the Army, July 28, 1942, and during World War II, he served as a corporal in the 1330th AAF Base Unit in India, until Nov. 30, 1945.
Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Rapp Bandi; two sons, Daniel A. Bandi and his wife, Barbara, Lawrence E. Bandi and his wife, Mary Dee; two daughters, Donna Schenerlein and her husband, Skip, Connie Boring and her husband, Robert A.; a brother, Alvin Bandi, all of Wheeling; six grandchildren, Matt Bandi, Scott and Patty Schenerlein, Erin and Kristina Bandi and Laura Krause.
Friends received 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, where vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. H. Joseph Wilhelm S.M. as celebrant. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, or Valley Hospice, 98B East Cove Ave., Wheeling, WV 26003.
