TUTTLE, Grace V. Burch 95, of Wheeling, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004 in Good
Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.
Grace was born October 12, 1908 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Charles E.
and Elizabeth Michaels Burch.
She was retired from the former Cleveland Graphite Bronze Co., Bridgeport, OH,
was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wheeling and the A.A.R.P.
In addition, she was an OPALS volunteer at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling
and enjoyed sewing for many hospitals and other organizations in the Wheeling
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl
Tuttle; a brother, George Edward Burch and his wife Leoma; three sisters, Mary
Burch, Emma Burch Taylor Nortemann and her husbands Webb Taylor Sr. and August
Nortemann, and Elsie Burch Scott and her husband Raymond Scott; two nephews,
David and Harold Burch and four nieces, Clara and Hilda Taylor, Doris Burch Root
and Martha Burch.
Surviving are five nephews, Webb Taylor and his wife Helen of Wheeling, George
William Burch and his wife Jean of Beech Bottom, Lawrence Burch of Wheeling,
Kenneth Burch and his wife Margaret of Tuscon, AZ and Charles Burch of Conroe,
TX; three nieces, Ester Burch Midcap and her husband Warren of Beech Bottom,
Ruth Burch Henry and her husband William of Wheeling and Wanda Matz of Wheeling;
and numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Grace
was a loving and generous person to everyone who knew her, and she will be
missed by all.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at McCoy-Altmeyer Funeral
Home, 44 15th Street, Wheeling, where funeral services will be held at 11 am
Saturday, April 24, 2004, with the Pastor David Twedt officiating. Interment
will be in Short Creek Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either St. James
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wheeling or the Short Creek United Methodist
