Goldie F. Wolfe Adkins

Age 81

Goldie F. Wolfe Adkins 81 of Meadow Road, East Liverpool, Ohio died Thursday, October 4, 2001 at Nentwick’s Convalescent Center following a lengthy illness.

She was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on April 7, 1920 , the daughter of the late Earl and Florence Stewart Wolfe.

A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Adkins was a sales clerk at the former Ogilvie’s Department Store. She was a 1937 graduate of East Liverpool High School, attended the Penn Avenue United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Miriam Circle and was a 50 year member of the Crystal Chapter of Eastern Stars.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert L. Adkins, whom she married January 1, 1943; a son, Dennis Adkins of East Liverpool; a sister, Ila Shanke of Zelienople, PA and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta Lee Adkins, a brother, Vance Wolfe and a sister Thelma June Jones.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Saturday, October 6, 2001 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dan Ferraro of the church officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Friday, October 5, 2001 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM

The family requested that Memorial Contributions may be made to the Penn Avenue United Methodist Church, 1091 Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, Ohio 43920.
