Glennis C. Swindell, 79, of Chesapeake died on Saturday, December 8, 2001.

Born in Richmond, Virginia, on September 5, 1922, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Oliver Swindell; two daughters, Faye S. Flintoff and her husband, Eric, of Chesapeake, Charlene S. Burch and her husband, Tim, of Virginia Beach and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Little O.C. Swindell, III and John Mason Swindell.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2001 at 12:00pm in Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel by Dr. Paul Hardy. Burial will be held in Rosewood Memorial Park The visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday, December 11, 2001 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial controbutions may be made to the the Alzheimer’s Association, 20 Koger Ctr. Norfolk, VA. 23502.

Faye, I read of your mother’s passing in today’s paper and just wanted to express my sympathy to you. I had not seen her since we were children at Faith Baptist, but I thought of her as a “classy” lady. I know she loved the Lord and is home with Him even now.
