Glen J. ”Wimpy” Eichelberger, 81, of Wheeling, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at home.
He was born Dec. 25, 1919.
He was a retired truck driver and a heavy equipment operator; an Army veteran of World War II; a Catholic by faith; a member of the American Legion Post No. 22, Thomas, W.Va.; and a 20-year volunteer for the House of Carpenter, Wheeling.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmella Lamont Eichelberger; his parents, Glen and Bessie Tasker Eichelberger; his stepmother, Ruth Eichelberger; a sister, Geraldine Turney; several stepbrothers and stepsisters.
Surviving are a son, Sam Eichelberger and his wife, Rosalind of Thomas; a brother, Harry Eichelberger of Silver Springs, Colo.; a sister, Mary Callis of Oakland, Md.; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; several nephews and nieces.
Friends received 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Grafton National Cemetery, Grafton, W.Va.
