Brandon, Gladys V. ElliottClark, 95, of McMechen, WV, died Thursday, August 9, 2012 in Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital, Wheeling, WV.
She was born October 10, 1916 in McMechen, a daughter of the late Luther V. and Olive Logston Elliott.
Mrs. Brandon was a graduate of Union High School; a member of the First Christian Church, McMechen, and the Volunteer Senior Companions of the United Way. Over the years, she held many offices in PTA’s and other organizations. In 1953, she became a Justice of the Peace Magistrate of Marshall County, and in 1962, she became the first councilwoman for the City of McMechen.
She enjoyed sewing for her grandchildren, doing crafts and playing bingo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, H. Lemoyne Clark and Leo Brandon; a son-in-law, John Warsinsky; a great-great-grandson, Coulton Cooper.
Surviving are three daughters, Harriet Prager and Rosetta William Amsbaugh, both of McMechen and Karen Warsinsky of Georgia; a brother, Gene Carolyn Elliott of Florida; a sister, Rosetta McMahon of North Carolina; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
At Mrs. Brandon’s request, there will be no visitation.
Friends are invited to attend graveside services at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the McMechen Cemetery, with Pastor Rodney Hubbs officiating. Following the services, a luncheon will be held at the home of her daughter, Harriet Prager, 4 Carla Ave., McMechen.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Harriet–So sorry about your mom. I think she was a wonderful person. Her quick wit and knowledge of life made her fun to be around. I won’t forget that she won the trivia contest at my picnic. She won all the prizes!! Please know my prayers are with you and your family. Love you.
