FORSCH, Gertrude "Leah" Nicholson, 86, of St. Clairsville, OH, formerly of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Saturday January 31, 2004 in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born December 14, 1917 in Martins Ferry, OH, a daughter of the late John and Henrietta Purdy Nicholson.
Leah was an avid reader and a was a member of the Women’s Club of Wheeling, and a bridge club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Charles Forsch, her brother, Jack Nicholson and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Nicholson.
She is survived by her children, William Forsch and his wife Lucy of Wheeling, Rita K. Forsch Smith of Wheeling, and Charlene Prusakowski and her husband Leonard of Claysville, PA; a sister, Patricia Cole and her husband Glenn of Alexandria, VA; six grandchildren, Kelly Schafer and her husband Mark of Columbus, OH, Leonard Prusakowski of Claysville, PA, Mindy Petry and her husband Tom of Orange City, FL, Holley Bossell and her husband Joe of Worthington, OH, Michael Forsch of Columbus, OH and Jamie Holt and her husband Jason of Wheeling, WV. Leah is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Eric and Rachael Schafer, Christopher, Jessica, Hannah, and Brooke Petry, and Corey Bossell.
Friends will be received from 11 am until time of funeral services at 1 pm Monday, February 2, 2004 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling. Entombment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Wheeling.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either the Salvation Army or the Ohio County Animal Shelter.
