Layman, Geraldine L., 83, of Moundsville, W.Va., died Wednesday May 12, 2010 in Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was born April 12, 1927, a daughter of the late Alvie and Bessie Moreland Stafford.
Mrs. Layman was a homemaker and attended the Moundsville United Pentecostal Church. She loved and wrote poetry, loved to attend church, and to help others whenever they were in need.
Surviving are her husband, Russell Layman, Sr.; two sons, Russell A. Debbie Layman, Jr. and Gregory A. Layman, all of Moundsville; three daughters, Rose Marie Dennis Walker of Colorado Springs, CO, Cherie Louise Charles Gorby of Colorado, and Robin Lynn William Mason of Alta Vista, VA; two sisters, Mildred Harmon of Sandy Springs, MD and Delores Jerry Lancaster of Rowlett, TX; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home , Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, WV, where services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 15, 2010 with Rev. Danny Price officiating.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.

I knew Geraldin from CVS and later I was her nurse at OVMC. My condolences to the family,you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
