Georgie was so special to me. I am still in shock, although I was well aware of her illness. She was, without a doubt one of the sweetiest and caring people I have ever known. I will miss sharing telescopic views with Georgie. She’s climbed my 8′ ladder to peer at the heavens through my telescope many nights. We had some great times together. Those times will always remain in my memory.

Georgie,

I remember the first time we met. You welcomed me to Unijax with a brilliant smile, a convincing hand shake, and you stated…”if you need any help, ask me.” That encounter was short, memorable, and it was nearly 30 years ago …

We ran into each other for the last time while grocery shopping a few years ago. It was much different than the first time we met…as we greeted each other with a warm smile and a big hug! We hadn’t seen each other in 15 years and we stood and talked in length about our families, our work buddies, fun times, and astrology. Who knew it would be the last time we talked?

I will sorely miss you my friend…

I will miss you Georgie. You were a very special part of my life for a couple years in the mid 80’s. Although we hadn’t spoken in almost thirty years the short time I had with you helped make me the man I am today.

My first memory of Georgie was of that first night I attended the astronomy club. Her sparkle and enthusiasm attracted me immediately. That was her greatest attribute and why she was so honored, teased, and loved by all her astro buddies. She always had the right words and everything always cost “a dollar”! Every time I go out under the stars, I shall look for that “Georgie Galaxy” she liked so much. A fond farewell to a gracious lady and friend.

Rebecca & I just heard of Georgie’s passing today, some three weeks after. We didn’t know her well, but we would see her twice a year or so at the East Coast Star Parties, where I can say I was always happy to see her. She was so pretty, outgoing, and friendly and, as one of the core members of the astronomy club, she always made us feel welcome. We’ll miss her. Please accept our condolences.

Thank you for being my neighbor and friend when I needed it terribly. Thank you for dragging me out to see Savannah when I was feeling sorry for myself… thanks for keeping the secret that Jeff actually tipped the bathing suit model at Adams to dance with me when all along I thought she liked me. I will NEVER forget you.
