Georgia Helena Thomas

Thomas, Georgia Helena, 85, of Moundsville, WV died peacefully surrounded by family and friends Friday, January 11, 2008 in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling, WV. She was born August 22, 1922 in Moundsville a daughter of the late Charles Sheperd and Cathrine Irene Miller Blakemore. Mrs. Thomas worked at the US Stamping during WW II, married and became a farmers wife and loving mother. She was a former nurse’s assistant at Reynolds Memorial Hospital; a Methodist by faith and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 347. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her devoted husband Charles W. Thomas, Sr.; a daughter Barbara Arlene Kelley and her husband Carlton Clayborn; a grandson Donald Edward Clark, Jr.; an infant brother, William Blakemore and a sister Margaret Blakemore; a son-in-law Robert L. Ward.
Surviving are five sons, Charles Wesley Thomas, Jr. of Wheeling; Jack L. Thomas and his wife Norma Jean of Moundsville; Robert D. Thomas and his wife Betty Ann of Glen Easton, WV, Frank E. Thomas of Pompano Beach, Fla. and William O. Thomas and his wife Rose Marie of Shadyside, Ohio; three daughters Judy A. Ward of Wheeling, Linda L. Clark and her husband Donald of Glen Dale, Cindy Farnsworth and her husband Curly of Delaware, Ohio; twenty-three grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday from at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, where services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, January 14, 2008 with Evangelist Brian Price officiating. Interment in Mt. Rose Cemetery, Moundsville. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Nursing Home, 159 Edgington Lane, Wheeling, WV 26003
