RINDFUSS, George W., 95, of North Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Moundsville and Wheeling, WV, died Thursday, October 3, 2002, in Hope Hospice North, Cape Coral, FL. He was born Jan. 11, 1907, in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of the late George W. and Martha H. Bodine Rindfuss. He was a retired employee of the
B & O Railroad and a Roman Catholic by faith. He was a member of Moundsville Knights of Columbus Council No. 1907. Limestone Volunteer Fire Department and Cave Club, Wheeling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie V. Singer Rindfuss; a brother, Karl W. Charlie Rindfuss; a grandson, John Strauss III; a great-grandson, John Strauss IV. Surviving are three daughters, Barbara Meyer and her husband, Griffith of Moundsville, Sue Riffle and her husband, David, of Moundsville, and Sharon Edgell and her husband, Jack, of North Fort Myers, Fla.; five grandchildren, David Meyer and his wife, Dru of Glen Dale, Kathy Engle and her husband, Tom of Glen Dale, Susan Kondraske and her husband, Bob of Doylestown, Pa., Lisa Friedrich and her husband, Jeff of Orlando, Fla., and Trina Glass of Fayetteville, N.C., 13 great-grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter; a great-granddaughter-in-law, Chris Strauss White of Wheeling. Friends received 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm until time of services at 8:00 pm Monday, October 7, 2002, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, with the Rev. Terry Adams, T.O.R., officiating. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Church Building Renovation Fund, 7th and Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, WV 26041.

Charlie & I are so happy that we were able to visit and get to know Uncle George. I think it really helped Charlie to learn about his Dad. And of course the bonus was meeting the entire family and being accepted by all.Our love and prayers are with all of you.”He is gone, but not gorgotten.”
