Dear Mrs. Rankin, Larry, Melinda, Sharon and Families,

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I am thankful I was able to briefly visit with him last week. He put up the good fight. I will remember most his infectious smile and good natured demeanor — traits he somehow passed to Larry, who I’m pleased to have called a friend for nearly thirty years. May you all find comfort in your memories of a wonderful man, husband and father.

With Fond Regards,

Brad Hamilton and Family

Dear Rankin Family,

Your Husband and Father was such a joy to us from our first visit to KPC. He always had a hug and and a smile for us and took time to chat. When we learned of his cancer, he became a regular on our prayer list. It was so encouraging and blessed to see him the last time he came to church and made a special visit to our pew to say “hello” and another HUG. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you on this wonderful Saint’s HOMEGOING!!!! God bless you all.

Dear Shirley, I am so sorry to hear about George’s passing. I was his secretary and James Korahaes’s at FAADCLANT. It was my first office job and he took me under his wing and helped me just as though I was his daughter. I still smile when I think of the times you would call and I told him his REAL BOSS was on the phone. He never disagreed about that either, because to him you were always number one. This world has truly lost a beautiful light, but HEAVEN is a much brighter place now that he is there, with his smiling face. Lew Bellinger called to let me know about this and I told him that he’s up there with Jim K. getting everyone straight. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND GIVE YOU PEACE UNTIL YOU AND GEORGE MEET AGAIN.

Dear Shirley, We were saddened to see the obituary on the web for the Virginian Pilot. George was always a pleasure to be around. Wish we had kept in touch over the years after leaving NRFC. You have our heartfelt sympathy and our prayers. God will give you strength and knowledge that George is now in a better place.

I have dreaded hearing the news telling me that Uncle George is gone for several years now. I have never known anyone who has fought the illness that overcame him and his past health issues with such vigor. He had open-heart surgery twice. The first time I was just a child and the procedure was not an everyday occurrence as it is today. He had overcome so many medical obstacles during his life and still maintained a positive, inspiring outlook on life. He was undoubtedly an inspiration to me. His way of helping people, especially family and friends was enlightening in these times.

I could talk to him for hours. I did on many occasions, but long for just one more conversation. He could always make me laugh and still was able to when he was so very sick. I will smile every time I think of him as I wipe away the tears. I feel that most people do not have the blessing of having an uncle who was also a very dear friend, but I was blessed with that gift.

Shirley, I also will have fond memories of George. We use to play tennis and I always did enjoy the get together once a week with Walter as well. Enjoyed working with him also. Seems he put up a good fight with his sickness.
