George Skukan

GEORGE SKUKAN, JR., 82, of Alliance, Ohio, formerly of St.Clairsville, died Sunday, September 5, 2004, at Canterbury Villa of Alliance.
He was born April 4, 1922, at Maynard, Ohio , a son of the late George Sr. and Katherine Maurer Skukan.
George was a retired machine operator for Consolidated Coal Co. and a WWII Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post #159 of St. Clairsville.
In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve and Joseph Skukan, a sister, Anna Telehowski and a granddaughter, Brandi Jo Caruthers.
Surviving are his wife Margaret Phillips Skukan, a daughter Beverly and her husband William Caruthers, of Homeworth, Ohio, a grandson, Brian and his wife Tamra Caruthers and their daughter, Bethany Jane also of Homeworth, and a sister, Eva Opatrny of Jerusalem, Ohio.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio, where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Interment follows at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
American Legion services will be at 7:00 PM, Tuesday.
