Kessler, George Patrick, 53, of Moundsville, WV, died Monday, February 11, 2008 in Trinity West, Steubenville, Ohio.
He was born August 3, 1954 in Wheeling, WV.
George was an employee of the City of McMechen Water Dept. and a member of St. James Catholic Church, McMechen.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Krupica Kessler.
Surviving are his father, George H. Kessler, and his step-mother, Dorothy of St. Clairsville, OH; two brothers, Jeffrey V. Kessler and his wife, Gretchen, of Glen Dale, and Christopher J. Kessler and his fiancée, Sherri, of McMechen; a sister, Kelly Ann Scott and her husband, Bryan, of Williamsburg, VA; six nephews, Stephen Houser, Jeffrey Houser, Matthew Houser, Christopher Houser, Jacob Kessler, Jackson Kessler; one niece, Lauren Chandler; two step-brothers, John Labos and his wife, Susan, and Timothy Labos; three step-sisters, Sadonna Citron and her husband, Dale, Karen Littleton and her husband, Billy, and Sharon Sarver and her husband, Michael, all of Pittsburgh, PA.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall St., McMechen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, February 14, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church, McMechen with Rev Joseph J. Hayden, S.J. as celebrant.
Interment in McMechen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bishop Donahue High School, 325 Logan St., McMechen, WV 26040.

So sorry to hear about George. While only running into him occassionally as an adult, some of my fondness childhood memories were when we competed in youth baseball during the summers of the mid-60’s as kids. I doubt that he forgot them either. I’m sure he’ll be missed by all that got to know him during his short time here on earth. My thoughts are condolences are with his family and friends at this time.
