George J. ”Junie” Storch Jr., 86, of Wheeling, died Thursday, September 20, 2001, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling. He was born in Wheeling on March 22, 1915, a son of the late George J. Storch Sr. and Mary Boles Storch.
He was retired from the Valley Camp Coal Co.; a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Elm Grove; and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Elm Grove Eagles Aerie 1891 and the Elm Grove Civics.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Papini Storch; two brothers, Frank and Peter Storch; and three sisters, Loretta Teufel, Catherine Storch and Genevieve Schaub.
Surviving are three sons, Robert Frank Storch and his wife, Alice of Fayetteville, N.C., Thomas Richard Storch Sr. and his wife, Lois of Sand Hill, W.V., George Phillip Storch and his wife Margie of Willis, Mich.; two daughters, Mary Ann James of Wheeling and Connie Jo Meaders and her husband, Allen of Waldorf, Md., a sister, Clarissa C. Storch of Wheeling; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling. Vigil services will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. H. Joseph Wilhelm, S.M., as celebrant. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
