Carolyn Knowles & Family,
Gary and I worked a number of years together in the Auto Theft Unit and for a while we were the 2 most senior investigators there. I alway enjoyed working with Gary and respected him immensely. I was sorry when he left and went to SVU. I was out of town and heard with surprise and dismay of Gary’s passing when I returned. My deepest condolences to you and your family at this sorrowful time. Gary will be missed by all who knew him
Gary Nelson

I know that I don’t know you but I am Jerry’s daughter-Elwood’s brother. I have regreted letting what my father was keep me from knowing my family. I did want you to know that I am so sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. I’ve always heard he was such a good man. My husband is too a Capt. with the Norfok Police Dept. I would’ve loved for him to get to know us both. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Kelly

To the family of Gary Knowles:
My deepest sympathy for your loss. I never met Gary but used to hear a lot about him when his mother and I shared a desk at NARF over 30 years ago. I doubt if Lille remembers me. If she does, please let her know I send my condolences.
We want to express our sincere condolences to Gary’s family. We both enjoyed working with Gary very much. I as a dispatcher and my husband as an officer who worked w/ Gary as an Auto Detective. God Bless.
What can be said at a time like this! You know, Carolyn, what a wonderful man Gary was and what we all thought of him. He was a prince among men and I want you to know that Paul and I have you in our thoughts and prayers daily. He will be greatly missed. Love, Judy
