Gary L. Horner
Age 53
Gary L. Horner of Genteel Ridge Road, Wellsburg, West Virginia, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at Weirton General Hospital following an auto accident.
He was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on March 15, 1949, the son of the late Everett H. and Nettie Horner Horner, Sr.
Mr. Horner, a lifelong area resident before moving to Wellsburg in 1999, had been employed at Ohio Edison, W.H. Sammis Plant, last working in 1990. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietman and attended the Second Church of Christ in East Liverpool.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Burt Horner, whom he married October 6, 1967 and a daughter, Mrs. Bryan Lisa Dawson of Wellsburg, WV.
He is also surviverd by 2 brothers, Lawrence Horner of East Liverpool, OH and Dana Horner of New Waterford, OH; 4 sisters, Mrs. Melvin Dorothy DeLong of Arizona, Mrs. Wayne Betty Dilworth of California, Joan Pickens of Ravenswood, WV and Evelyn Henderson of East Liverpool, OH; 2 grandsons, Clay Dawson and Joey Dawson of Wellsburg, WV and 1 granddaughter, Taylor Dawson of Wellsburg, WV.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Everett H.
Horner, Jr. and a sister, Hattie Moore.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes, 15872 St. Clair Avenue, Calcutta, Ohio 43920 on Monday, May 6, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Minister John Martin of the church, officiating.
Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home in Calcutta on Sunday, May 5, 2002 form 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

We were friends of Gary’s from the vfw in Wellsburg. Gary was a very nice gentleman and well liked by everyone. I am so sorry for the tragic loss if your husband/father I’ve heard him speek very highly of you/family and his grandchildren many times. I lost my mother, sister, and sister in law all with in 6 weeks its a difficult thing to go thru. Take one day at a time Sue things do get better in the future.
