Frederick ”Fred” Leughmyer

Age: 82

Frederick ”Fred” Leughmyer died Saturday May 12, 2001, at Fox Nursing Home Chester, W.Va. from a brief Illness.

He was born in Wellsville, Ohio on September 10, 1918. He is the son of the late Frederick Leughmyer, Sr. and Goldie Haynes Leughmyer.

Living his entire life in Wellsville, he was a member of the Covenant U.P. Church in Wellsville. Mr. Leughmyer served in the United States Army During WW II. He was a member of the Wellsville Elks Lodge #1040, Wellsville VFW Post 5647 and was an avid golfer. Mr Leughmyer was very active in his church up till the time of his illness.

Besides his parents he is preceeded in death by his wife, Mrs. Hazel I. Stewart Leughmyer, who died November 11, 1984, 1 brother, Earl Leughmyer and 1 sister, Mrs. Marge Adams.

He is survived by 2 sons, Gary Elaine Leughmeyer of Somersworth, New Hampshire, and Jeff Leughmyer of Hartland, Wisc. 1 sister Mrs. LaRue Evans of Columbiana, Ohio. Three GrandChildren, Stacy Leughmyer, Mrs. Fred Tavia Smith, Damian Heather Leughmyer. Two Great GrandChildren, Marcia Smith and Shayla Smith.

Services will be held at the Covenant U.P. Church of Wellsville, Ohio on Wednesday May 16, 2001 at 11:00 AM with Rev Ron Bown of the Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wellsville Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday May 15, 2001.
