Freda G. Graebing, 92 formerly of Calcutta, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at St. Barnabas Nursing Home in Gibsonia, PA following a lengthy illness.
She was born in East Liverpool, OH on May 22, 1922 a daughter to the late Luther M. and Lucy E. Erwin Grimes. Freda was a 1940 graduate of East Liverpool High School and a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving the WAAC during WWII as a Chaplain Assistant. She was a member of Longs Run Church where she served as choir director, custodian and a Sunday school teacher. She was a homemaker, mother and grandmother and a member of the Edwardian Sewing Club and Grange.
She is survived by two sons: Phillip Graebing and his wife Pat of Gibsonia, PA and Rev. Jeffrey Graebing and his wife Lorain of Grand Junction, CO; three daughters: Rebecca Bailey of Calcutta, OH, Patricia Reed and her husband Frank of Ontario, OH and Paula Madish and her husband Mike of Berwick, PA; ten grandchildren, Sixteen great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Wesley Graebing whom she married December 24, 1946; a daughter: Mary Alice Joy; three brothers: Maywood, Ross and Ralph Grimes and a sister: Edith Anderson.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Noon with William Betteridge retired officiating. Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park at a later date.
Family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Chapel on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Freda in person, but became friends on social media. She was helpful to me in providing information for our Family Tree. I will always be grateful for her kind words and help. My prayers & condolences to all those who loved & cherished Freda.

What a wonderful, patient, person. When I think about going to church growing up, my best memories include your mom. Especially some of the Christmas pageants.
