Fred U. Moran, Jr.

MORAN, Fred U. ”Pooch,” 41, of 5 Hamilton Ave., Wheeling, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, in Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg, W.Va. He was born April 4, 1960, a son of the late Fred Moran, Sr. and Marlene Yordan Moran of Wheling. He was a 1978 graduate of Wheeling Park High School, the owner of Horizon Pools and Spas, 165 Main St., St. Clairsville, Ohio, a certified building professional of the National Spa and Pool Institute, a member of the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce, the St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Wheeling Nailers Boosters Club, and a Methodist by faith. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mary Ellen Specht Moran and their three children, Tiffany, Heather, and Nathan; a brother, Roy Moran of Beach Island, S.C. Friends will be received on Sunday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling, from noon-3 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 12 noon at Christ United Methodist Church, 1232 National Road, Wheeling, with the Rev. J. William DeMoss officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
