Frank J. Baum, 82, of Shadyside, OH, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 in the Shadyside Care Center.

He was born September 11, 1925 in Glendale, WV, a son of the late Joseph Francis and Amelia Leihtner Baum.

Frank was a retired supervisor with First Energy- RE Burger Plant, Shadyside, was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, American Legion Post 521 where he served as Past Commander and also Past District Chaplain, and was a Navy veteran of WWII.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Klovanich Baum in 2007, 2 brothers, Paul and Dave, and 1 sister, Agnes.

Surviving are 4 children; Jeffrey Marge Baum of Temperance, MI, Randy Rosemary Baum of Toledo, OH, Shelley Baum-Brandon of Arvada, CO, Jay Chris Baum of Temperance, MI, 2 brothers, Carl Baum of Moundsville, Joseph Baum of Glendale, and 4 grandchildren; Jason Sheila of Shadyside, Elizabeth and Victoria of Temperance, MI and Josh of Shadyside.

Friends will be received on Friday, June 6 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at the Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3900 Central Ave., Shadyside.

Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7 at 10:00am in St. Mary Catholic Church, Shadyside with Fr. Samuel Saprano as celebrant.

Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, OH.

A vigil service will be conducted on Friday at 8:30pm in the funeral home.

American Legion Post 521 will conduct military services on Saturday morning prior to church service in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Ste. 250, Dallas TX, 75244 or the American Legion Post 521, Shadyside.

Jeff — I know the pain that you and your family are experiencing, as I lost my mom in January. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours. I hope it gives you the strength to get through this difficult time.

To Jeff, Randy, Shelley, & Jay. My deepest condolences on the loss of your Father.

I saw Uncle Frank this past April when he attended the Mass for our Mom and it meant so much to us that he was able to be there.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
