Frank A. “Bud” Fisher, Sr.
Frank A. “Bud” Fisher, Sr., 86 of the Calcutta Smith Ferry Road, East Liverpool, OH died at the East Liverpool City Hospital on Saturday, December 6, 2008. He was born in East Liverpool on August 2, 1922, a son of the late Frank & Olive K. Fisher.
Bud lived all his life as a Dairy Farmer in Calcutta. He was the 3rd generation to farm the 425 acre farm that was dedicated in 1976 as a Century Farm by the State of Ohio. He was a lifelong member of the Longs Run Presbyterian Church and served in the US Army as a Sergeant and Tank Commander in Germany during World War II. Bud worked for a year after he returned from the war in Midland at the Crucible Steel Mill before returning to the family farm he loved so much.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
His wife of 66 years, Joanne preceded him in death on November 11, 2007.
Three sons: Frank A. Fisher, Jr. and his wife Linda, Mike Fisher and his wife Bert and Thomas “TH” Fisher all of East Liverpool, OH; one daughter: Linda May Creaturo of Butler, PA; six grandchildren: Craig Creaturo who was raised by Bud and Joann and his mother, Linda, Frank A. Fisher III, Lisa Williams, Max Fisher and Mya Hasson as well as seven great grandchildren survive him.
Besides his parents and wife, a brother, Carl “Ladd” Fisher and a grandson, Jesse Fisher preceded him in death.
At Bud’s request, a private family service was held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Monday with Rev. Steve Cramer of the church officiating.
Burial followed in Longs Run Cemetery.
