Frances Mary Dobias Holly, 92, of Wheeling, died Saturday, September 8, 2001, in the Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center Wheeling.
She was born November 5, 1908, in Benwood, WV, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Katherine Dobias.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling; and a past member of the Christian Mothers at the church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen B. Holly in 1993; two brothers, John and Lawrence Dobias; and three sisters, Mary Washalaski, Katherine Kadlic and Emma Russell.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen Holly and his wife, Peggy of Birmingham, Alabama and Joseph Holly of Wheeling; five daughters, Mary Katherine Strong and her husband, Robert, Jane Frances Fox and her husband, Charles E., Rita Selak and her husband, Tony, and Elaine Dvorcek and her husband, Don, all of Wheeling and Anna Lee Alvarez and her husband, Louis of Nashville, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Chroma of St. Clairsville.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, where vigil services will be held on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. H. Joseph Wilhelm, S.M. as celebrant. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
