Raymond, Florence DiCola, 91, of Benwood, WV, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV.
She was born November 18, 1920 in Benwood, the youngest child of the late Carmelo and Marie Carlini DiCola.
Mrs. Raymond was a former employee of Wheeling Stamping. She was a member of St. John Church, past president of the Rosary Altar Society of St. Johns Church and past president of the Italian Mothers’ Club, all of Benwood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Tony H. Raymond in 2009; five brothers, Louis, Nick, Anthony, William and Ralph DiCola; two sisters, Josephine Kolibash and Rose Conti.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Tim Meighen of St. Clairsville, OH; a step-grandson, SSgt Jeffrey Christina Meighen of Baltimore, MD, with SSgt Meighen currently serving in Afghanistan; a special great-niece, Amber Greenwood of Pittsburgh, PA; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received from 1-4 & 6-8 pm Sunday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall St., McMechen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, January 9, 2012 at St. John Catholic Church, Benwood, with Rev. Bekeh Utietiang as celebrant.
Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
