Age 91

Eva G. Cecil, 91, of Geer Road, New Cunberland, West Virginia, died Monday, September 16, 2002 at the Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, West Virginia, following a brief illness.

She was born in Knob Fort in Wetzel County, West Virginia on April 13, 1911, the daughter of the late James Irwin Six and Melissa Jane Brookover Six.

Mrs. Cecil, a lifelong area resident, was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a former member of the Elwood Farm Women’s Club and attended the Nazarene Church.

Her husband, Willis Cecil, whom she married in 1942, died in 1953.

She is survived by 4 sons, Willis "Jake" Cecil, Eugene Andrew Cecil and James David Cecil all of New Cumberland, West Virginia and Joseph Benton of Inez, Kentucky; 2 daughters, Margaret Jane Wilkins and Eva Lee Blank, both of Inez, Kentucky; 2 sisters, Bessie Snyder of Beaver County, Pennsylvania and Jessie Hobbs of East Liverpool, Ohio; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the East Liverpool Chapel of the Martin-MacLean-Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, September 19, 2002 at 11:00 Am with Pastor Vaughn Davis, retired minister from Colliers, West Virginia, officiating.

Burial will follow in Locust Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home in East Liverpool today, Wednesday, September 18, 2002 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
