For my Dad. My entire life is flashing before my eyes. I am 4 and my dad is teaching me to sing “You are My Sunshine”, a year or so later he is shoving me down the street on my bike and I remember turning to look because he had let go. And now I am standing on top of his shoes and he is teaching me to dance. I’m 20 and it’s my wedding day and he is walking me down the aisle and once again I remember turning to look, he had let go. But 8 years later he is holding my son in his arms for the first time. And so many more memories. But this is to thank someone for giving me all those Kodak moments. I know that my son and my nephews know that they had a really good pap and my brothers and sister know that we had the world’s greatest dad and my Mom knows that she was blessed with a wonderful husband and friend.

My perception of heaven is that when we die our friends and family who have died before us are there waiting to take us into the light. I know that my Dad is in heaven because when I close my eyes and listen very carefully, I know that heaven got a little rowdier this week, because the Lohri boys are back together again and they are waiting to take us into the light. Thank you for being my Dad.

Gene was a very special man. He was always willing to help others and was a wonderful grandfather and father. He will be missed by his grandchildren and will always be an inspiration to the value of hard work and perseverance.

I have so many great memories of Uncle Gene. My son Matt and I still talk about the time we stayed at your house when my mom Alice, Aunt Carol, and Aunt JoAnn went to Atlantic City. We remember those apple pies and Uncle Gene’s stories! I will miss Uncle Gene. All of you are in my thoughts.

Love,

Jo Ann Graber and family

Marie:

Gary and I have moved from Glen Dale to Tampa and were unable to attend the viewing of Gene. I always enjoyed talking with him at the grocery store and the fish frys. As you know we were both from Smithfield and we discussed all the people from there.

We are so sorry for you loss but know he is in a better place.

Fondly, Carolyn Martin

Mr Lohri was a warm and gentle soul who seemed to radiate a type of peace and gentle strength whenever I was near him.

I hope those qualities continue to sustain you .

I remember sharing our tattoo stories and always being impressed with his skill as a woodworker. I am so glad Michael was there to say goodbye to his father I know he was loved and respected by many.

Warm Regards,

Michael Mancilla

To all of you,

I am so sorry that I can’t be there with you. Thinking about Uncle Gene these past few days has put a smile on my face. I still think Uncle Gene had the best looking mustache I’ve ever seen in my life. I would have liked to have thanked him for teaching me how to properly play G, C, and D cords on the guitar way back when. I don’t what I would do without them today.

With all my heart,
