I was out of town when my cousin David called me with the news about my Uncle Gene. I felt one more thread of my family had slipped away. I will no longer hear his voice at the end of my phone nor imagine his stern face on the other end. He was such a caring, loving man. The time seem to melt away when we would talk on the phone. He was my loving uncle whose heart was as big as the ocean. I will miss him and without question I will always love him. Thanks cousins for the beautiful tribute to him. Those pictures are timeless. They meant a lot to me. Love Jamie

I’ll never forget anything I learned from my Great Uncle or the examples he set for me. He was a strong man with a good heart and I will miss the silly phone calls that came out of the blue. All my love forever.
