OBITUARY NOTICE
Esther M. Laughlin
Age 79
Esther M. Laughlin, 79 formerly of St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, OH passed away at East Liverpool City Hospital on Sunday, November 2, 2008 following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Chester, West Virginia on August 20, 1929, a daughter of the late Frank and Olive Pugh Simcox. Moving back to East Liverpool from Poland, OH in 1996, Mrs. Laughlin was a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a graduate of Chester High School.
Her husband, John W. Laughlin, whom she married July 25, 1947, died June 18, 1995.
She is survived by four sons, Frank Jeffrey Laughlin and his wife, Rebecca of Downingtown, PA, John Leslie Laughlin and his wife, Dawn of Mingo Junction, OH James Alan Laughlin and his wife, Virginia of Lynchburg, VA and Joel David Laughlin and his wife, Linda of Henderson, NE; two daughters, Esther Joyce Zuccarini and her husband, Albert of Lumberton, NJ and Janice Kay Thimons and her husband, David of Marienville, PA; three brothers, Wallace J. Simcox of East Liverpool, OH, Joseph Lee Simcox of Chester, WV and Thomas A. Simcox of Columbiana, OH; sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, two brothers, Frank H. Simcox and Stanley D. Simcox and one sister, Suzanne M. Merchant preceded her in death.
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Trina Lewis of Westminister Presbyterian Church in Chester, WV, officiating.
Burial will be in Poland Riverside Cemetery in Poland, OH
The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM
Family and friends will gather for food and fellowship at the Hospitality Center of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes at 145 West Fifth Street following the services at the funeral home
