Ernest Simmons
Age 88
Ernest Simmons 88, of Y Camp Road, Lisbon, Ohio, died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at The Medical Center in Beaver, PA following a several month illness.
He was born in Erwin, Tennessee on July 25, 1915, a son of the late Henry and Sarah Nelson Simmons.
Living most of his life in the area, Mr. Simmons worked as a laborer for T. K. Roofing Company, retiring in 1977. He was a veteran of the US Navy.
His wife, Faye DeBee Rollins Simmons preceded him in death on October of 1993.
Mr. Simmons is survived by a daughter, Kaye Howell of Edgerton, Ohio and three sisters, Venie Dawson of Hookstown, PA Louise Denty of Florida and Ruth Glovsek of Texas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters
Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at 12:30 PM with Rev. Paul Sturm, officiating and the Tri State Burial Group will accord full military honors.
Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Friends may visit at the funeral home two hours prior to the service on Wednesday.
